- WHAT IS FREEDOM MINISTRY?
Freedom Ministry is a kingdom-focused ministry fulfilling Jesus’ mission as described in Luke 4:18-19. It encompasses various ministries that promote the activities described in this passage: preaching good news to the poor, opening blind eyes, releasing captives and prisoners and proclaiming the favorable year of the Lord. Our approach for ministering to people follows the example set by Jesus Himself.
- WHY WOULD I WANT FREEDOM MINISTRY?
Freedom Ministry is designed to help you become who you were created and redeemed to be. In Christ, we have the ability to enjoy a high level of spiritual, emotional, relational and physical freedom. Obstacles such as lack of understanding, fear and unforgiveness can lead to uncontrolled emotions, compulsive thoughts or broken relationships. All of these hinder our joy and spiritual power. Freedom Ministry teaches and assists us in engaging the power of the Holy Spirit to overcome these obstacles so that we can experience the abundant life that Jesus provided for us.
At Gateway, we want you to know that Freedom Ministry is a discipleship process that will yield great benefits while training you to walk and grow in the freedom Christ has provided.
- THE PROCESS CONSISTS OF THREE COMPONENTS:
1. FOUNDATION CLASSES Our four foundation classes collectively lay a foundation for understanding God’s plan and His provision for you to obtain and maintain freedom. The four classes include Levels of Change, Hearing God, Kingdom of God and Life in the Kingdom.
2. TOPICAL CLASSES These classes impart biblical truth in specific areas where people commonly seek freedom. Each topical class ends with a time of ministry relevant to a specific topic.
3. KAIROS KAIROS is a Freedom Ministry event designed to create a safe atmosphere for you, within a group setting, to experience God’s healing power by having an intimate encounter with the Holy Spirit through inner healing exercises and worship. In the New Testament, the word kairos means “the appointed time in the purpose of God.” This is a time for inner healing and breaking strongholds as well as physical, emotional, mental and spiritual healing. This event is more about God’s healing presence than about teaching or lectures. To prepare your heart to experience God’s healing presence, completion of the four Freedom Ministry foundation classes is strongly recommended.
- OTHER MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES
Once you’ve worked your way through this process, there are several other ministry opportunities available: Marriage & Family Modules and Events, Freedom Ministry Modules and Individual Ministry Sessions. If, after you have worked through the process, you desire a personal ministry session, we ask that you complete a Freedom Ministry Questionnaire. The questionnaire is available by emailing freedom@gatewaypeople.com. Once that is completed and you have met the other requirements, your name will be placed on a list for our first available minister or ministry team. These sessions may involve prayer for deliverance and inner healing, help in hearing the Lord’s voice and biblical guidance and instruction.
